Man at Work

07/18/08 - Just a quick update to let everyone know that Cooper is knee-deep in lyric-covered paper (both discarded and saved) at the moment, but hopes to put a final punctuation mark on all of it very, very soon. Pre-production on demos has begun, and so far a hefty handful of songs have taken shape on virtual tape (rhyme unintended, but appreciated). We're looking at about a dozen more tunes that should have meat put on their bones over the next few weeks. After that leg-work, Cooper will head into the studio to turn the demos into honest-to-goodness completed material for the upcoming CD. Though the process has taken longer than expected, patience is proving a virtue and we can assure everyone that the wait will be worth it. A big thank you goes out to all the supporters out there. We can't wait to update you all with the news of the album's completion as soon as possible. Until then, keep on keepin' on...

12/21/07 - Good news has recently arrived for Cooper, like a beautifully decorated gift given and graciously unwrapped early this year. Cooper Thomson has officially been named one of the 10 artists to be featured on JANE Magazine's 2007 Music It List, sponsored by Maybelline New York and Garnier Fructis. 10/26/07 - Heads-up: "That Was Then & This Is Now" will be one of the songs featured on tonight's episode of ABC's "Men in Trees." The tune wraps up the drama during the last few minutes and may help to bring a heartfelt and joyous tear to your eye.

Have tissues on hand, just in case.

03/13/07 - Well, at least it's good for Cooper. We say this for good reason, as a variety of Cooper Thomson songs have recently been featured on such popular shows as "Boston Legal," "Men In Trees," and (as of last night) "What About Brian?" on ABC. So always keep your ears open any time your eyes are glued to the ol' boob tube, 'cause you might hear Cooper coming through that hi-fi surround-sound system you just bought (or through the left mono speaker of your folks' old hand-me-down set. We issue no judgment here).

01/1/07 - Here's wishing everybody out there a truly wonderful 2007! The year could not have ended on a higher note for Cooper. His opening slot for Quincy Coleman at Largo in December was the perfect exclamation point to 2006's conclusion. What a great night. Now, it's back to writing and arranging more material for a new recording in 2007. We will see you all down the road a piece.

11/22/06 - We are happy to report that Cooper has been cajoled out of his self-imposed hermitage by an offer he could not refuse. Cooper will be the opening act for the wonderful Quincy Coleman when she performs at the esteemed club "Largo" on December 13th. The show will truly be a great one, so come down early and stay late. Doors open at 8 and Cooper kicks things off at 9.

03/29/06 - Cooper has just been asked to be a part of a new series of shows produced by man-about-town promoter Jay Tinsky. The two-night stint is called "Live at the Lounge," and is shaping up to be somewhat of a neo-Vaudevillian variety show. Each night features 5-8 performers with a comic host. Expose yourself to new artists and stay for an entire evening of entertainment. Cooper will be there April 7th & 8th.

10/31/05 - So, it turns out Cooper will be opening the show at ASCAP's "Quiet on the Set" songwriters' showcase. The whole affair is going down at The Hotel Cafe on Monday, November 7th. The address and other info can be found in the show section of this site.

And yes, that is not a typo... This show is totally FREE.

Cooper will be on at 8 p.m. sharp, so don't be tardy.
